The Fear are on fire! Coming hot off the heels of a completely sold out UK tour supporting US nu metal originals SNOT, Benj, Mick, Ad and Adam are keeping the momentum flowing with news of their brand new single – and some more shows!
First things first – new music. The Fear bring everyone their brand new single, Suffering, which has just released today (11th of September). The follow up to their very well received cover of Manchester indie icons James’ legendary track Sit Down, Suffering furthers the sound that The Fear are quickly building into their own. Electronically sampled rock with meaningful lyrics and huge choruses, Suffering will appeal to fans all across the rock heaviness spectrum.
The Fear’s drummer Benj Ashmead gives some more detail on the inspiration behind their new single Suffering:
“The subject of the song came from a quote I stumbled on while doom scrolling — from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho — about how fear is worse than the thing itself. That really resonated with me, so I decided to explore it from a personal perspective. Suffering is about facing the unknown head-on, because hiding from it is what really hurts.“
