The music of The 502s is an instant shortcut to unstoppable joy. Often called “the happiest band on Earth,” last week they released their new album Easy Street. Today they announce the international expansion of their Easy Street Tour complete with new European and U.K. dates set for the top of next year.
“We’re so excited to be heading back across the pond to the UK and Europe. This trip is all about celebrating Easy Street with the fans who have been singing along with us from day one,” shares The 502s. “Every time we play there the energy is unforgettable, and we can’t wait to share these songs, old and new, with such an incredible and engaged community.”
Their fourth album and debut release with Big Loud Records, Easy Street marks the most fully realized work yet from The 502s, whose lineup includes frontman Ed Isola, horn player Joe Capati, drummer Sean Froelich, bassist Nick Dallas and guitarist Graci Phillips. The album was produced by their frequent collaborator Bobby Campbell and recorded at Farmland Studios in Nashville. Easy Street also finds The 502s joining forces with a stacked lineup of guest musicians (on mandolin, piano, strings, vibraphone, accordion, and more) — ultimately adding even more texture to their rowdy and rapturous sound while harnessing all the wild exuberance of their live set.
With previously released songs like “Summer Fling,” introspective “Quicksand” and exuberant “End of the World,” the album offers a treasure trove of sing-along songs like “Sweet Tooth” with its indomitable spirit sharing a giddy portrait of a summer crush. Fittingly the album opens with the bright and bouncy “Sayonara,” one of the very first songs penned for the album.
