Amble / Ryan McMullan – live gallery and review from the Heineken Big Top Galway International Arts Festival 16.07.2025

Amble played a packed-out show in Galway last night and honestly, it was unreal from the get go. The lads were in flying form, bouncing off the energy of the 4,000-strong crowd who were well up for it from the start. The setlist had a solid mix of all the favourites like Mary’s Pub, Marlay Park, Mariner Boy and some new tunes set for release later this Summer. The lads are great together on stage and really make any gig feel intimate. There was no big fuss, just really good music and a crowd that knew every word.

Ryan McMullan opened things up with a great set of his own. He had the place nice and settled before Amble came on and lifted the energy up a few notches. There was a moment where the band stopped to take it all in and said it was the loudest crowd they’ve ever played to. From the side eyes to each other during tracks you could tell they meant it, the noise was unreal.

Nights like that are what live gigs are all about. They’re back on the road again with Cork up next tonight, then it’s over to the UK to play Latitude Festival before seeing our their July with a gig at the Breakwater festival in Wexford.
