Biig Piig came home on Monday night to a huge welcome from her home fans at the Olympia. Following the release of her brilliant debut album ‘11:11’ only 10 days prior, she found herself on the receiving end of a crowd that already knew every word.
On cue with the infectious bassline of ‘4am’ to open the show, Biig Piig entered center stage. Some of the best grooves to come out of the Irish indie scene in recent years found their perfect home on the 3Olympia stage. Given how well the intricate sonic choices on the debut album come across on a good pair of headphones, I was hoping that all of the detail would still come through in the live setup…. and it sure did.
Biig Piig will go on to play in the UK and Europe. Support on the night came from Cecilia Rose, who was followed by KhakiKid – an exciting Irish act to keep an eye on.
