Beyond The Pale Festival – day two live gallery and review from Glendalough Estate, Co. Wicklow 13.06.2026

Once the last fleeting notes of the Friday night’s offerings petered off into the early morning air, festival goers only had a few hours to rest before the chaos continued again into Day Two at Beyond the Pale. The Saturday lineup had something on offer for everyone and in my mind had the strongest lineup of the weekend.

First up for me was one of my personal favourite acts, Sexy Tadhg who after a very successful trip to the valley last year in the Strawberry fields was being brought to a bigger audience in the Selective Memory tent. What struck me when I walked in first was the size of their band stretching across multiple Irish instruments alongside your standard guitar, bass, drumkit setup. All the band were also dressed in Sexy Tadhg merch paired with matching pink GAA shorts, which I for one would love to add to my own wardrobe; very cool! In waiting for the act to start I chatted to fans at barricade. One sign caught my eye in particular due to its Carlow reference and it turned out to be held by two of Tadhg’s own family, who were a delight to talk to. Other fans had travelled from far and wide particularly to see this festival set. Sexy Tadhg emerged with the theatricality they are known best for and launched into one of the most energetic and hair rising sets I got to watch during the weekend.

Next I popped over to the Outpost with RTE 2FM stage to catch the indie-alternative band Run the Red in their early slot. This group had gathered quite a good crowd when I arrived and I thoroughly enjoyed their set.

I then headed out into the blistering sun determined to get to the main stage for BIIRD. I hadn’t gotten to see this act yet, but from everything I had heard about them, I knew I was in for a treat. For a relatively early slot in the day, the crowd were very up for this and the energy exuded on the stage was matched, if not exceeded by all those on the field. BIIRD encouraged the crowd to grab a partner and do start set dancing. I have never moved as quick as I did for this announcement, straight to the front of house stage to capture the full breadth of this audience participation and it did not disappoint.

The next act on my list was undoubtedly the act I had looked forward to most on the Saturday, Cork band The Cliffords who absolutely won me over at Forbidden Fruit festival last year and whom I’ve been a fan of ever since. There wasn’t a square inch of the tent not filled for this set and if you’d been there even five minutes, you’d have realised why. The Cliffords exude the confidence and ability of a hard-weathered band who had played the biggest stages of the country for the last 10 years. This is a band that is on the rise and I’d be advising anyone who appreciates great songwriting and stage presence, get out and see this group on our smaller stages before you have to fight the Ticketmaster war to see them on those big stages they are inevitably set for in the future.

After all this excitement I headed to the main stage to capture Sister Sledge’s performance. Never have I been so surprised as to how many songs I would actually know of an act I hadn’t known by name. I would argue this was one of the strongest performances of the weekend. They played all the hits and were definitely the crowd pleaser of the weekend.

Next up on main stage for the evening was Dublin artist Bricknasty, who I had captured last year at antoher festival, so knew this would be a popular set. Kojaque followed on with his set on the main stage and was an unbelievable performer, and never stopped moving. Definitely had a strong fan base onsite who were throwing shapes at the barricade and clearly having the time of their lives.

Following on was the iconic group Primal Scream who attracted the biggest crowd of the festival weekend to the main stage arena. The energy of this group was infectious and they put on a brilliant performance.

The final act on main stage for the night was Tinlicker, definitely one of the more unusual act displays I captured over the weekend, think a sprinkling of the omega code cracking scenes paired with electronic music. Definitely something different and clearly a popular choice to close out this second night in Glendalough.
