Hex Girlfriend today share their self-produced new single ‘Gathering Dust‘ – out now on Soil To The Sun Recordings (Tooth / Cliffords). The single was premiered by Huw Stephens at BBC 6Music. The band will celebrate the single release with a party in East London on Sept 16th, with more dates to be announced soon. Gathering Dust sets the standard – propulsive, ambitious and danceable, it offers a tantalising glimpse of what’s to come for the much-hyped duo.
On the new single, Hex Girlfriend say –
“Gathering Dust is a song about stagnation and breaking free from it, and about how sometimes the key to doing so lies in things that are sitting on the shelf that you may have missed.”
Hex Girlfriend is a two piece musical project from James Knott and Noah Yorke. They started making music on a laptop in a bedroom upon meeting at Goldsmiths University, where they prioritised the enjoyment derived from the process of working together above all other considerations. They continue to seek to make music in this same manner, winding electronic wizardry, animated live instrumentations and intuitive melody tightly together.
Hex Girlfriend have a clear path in mind – expect some big announcements for 2027 very soon.
