A meeting of musical minds, PostLast x Arveene have come together to bring a new musical perspective on Postlast’s 2024 debut single ‘Connect 4’ – a song that garnered a wave of acclaim in national and international media upon it’s initial release, including being selected as RTE 2FMTrack of the Week, The Vinyl District’s UK Artist of The Week, Loud Women’s Track of the Day, and Ocean FM’s Record of The Week.
Arveene’s remix credits read like a who’s who in electronic dance music, including the likes of Mr. Oizo, The Prodigy, Felix the Housecat, Zombie Nation, Ashley Beedle, and Kelis on labels such as Kitsune, Ed Banger, Bang Gang, Turbo, Universal, Song and many more. This time round he dug deep into the musical stylings of Detroit’s classic techno scene and resurfaced with ‘Connect 4 – Arveene’s 313 Remix’.
PostLast are extremely excited to have their work be adapted to become part of Arveene’s catalogue. His recent studio productions have seen him cut up Mango & Mathman into a hip house roller (Record of the Week 2fm), score deep melodic breaks for Saint Sister (Record of the Week 2fm), add finishing touches to Solarr by Talos, take Ria Rua to the big screen with his remix of ‘Asking For It’ being synced to the new Nicolas Cage x Lorcan Finnegan movie. He also produced Kneecap – Get Your Brits Out, Fenian Cunts, Mam (Record of the Week 2fm) and I bhFiacha Linne on their current album with Toddla T.
After a glittering start in 2024, PostLast have a series of remixes of tracks from their debut EP ‘Pull Me Into The Open Sea’ lined up for the coming months, so keep an eye on all things PostLast for some new perspectives on their classic alt-pop sound.
PostLast launched in spring of 2024, but Julie and Stephen first connected while completing a joint headline tour of Ireland and the UK in 2017 with their respective bands HAVVK and BARQ. Over the past year, they’ve been writing in secret, preparing each element of their collaboration to be ready for public release in spring 2024. The result is a playful escape into their musical imaginations, utterly unlike either of their previous projects.
Their debut single ‘Connect 4’ is about rediscovering your inner-child through connection with others, and remembering how to switch off, play and dance with reckless abandon. The track garnered a wave of acclaim from the likes of Nialler9, GoldenPlec, Get In Her Ears, and She Makes Music. The release was also named as RTE 2fm’s Track of the Week, The Vinyl District’s Artist of The Week, and Loud Women’s Track of the Day.
