Today sees Irish band Pebbledash – release new single ‘Soak’

“Soak” begins with a poignant soliloquy that conveys deep admiration and affection for a partner and one’s hometown, setting a reflective tone and inviting listeners into an intimate emotional space. As the narrative unfolds, the track steadily builds throughout the first verse, layering soft melodies with reverberating guitars and a driving rhythm. This gradual crescendo culminates in a powerful wall of sound, overflowing with rich harmonies that envelop the listener. The combination of heartfelt lyrics and dynamic instrumentation creates an immersive experience, highlighting the band’s ability to blend emotional depth with an expansive sonic landscape.

“Soak is a statement of longing and heart-wrenching nostalgia, the spoken word punctuating the instruments just like how yearning thoughts and distance from a place and people that I loved punctuated my life at the time of writing. Although it is a delicate somewhat pretty song this is juxtaposed by the melancholic words and angry ugly distortion at the end signifying the polarity of nostalgia and the necessity for pain to make the love and joy genuine, perhaps even possible in the first place.”

Pebbledash are a 6-piece shoegaze indie  band from Cork, Ireland.

The band incorporates elements of noise rock and dream pop to create textured and melodic soundscapes. Grumbling basslines and cries of guitars juxtaposed with a wash of synth submerge you in their introspective lyricism, stirring up emotion and catharsis.

Pebbledash is carving out a vibrant niche in the music landscape, fusing emotive melodies with rich, textured layers of sound. They have shared the stage with an array of talented artists, including Bar Italia, Junior Brother, Elaine Malone, and Girlfriend, showcasing their distinctive voice that marries ethereal guitar soundscapes with elements of traditional Irish music.

Gaining momentum with high-profile appearances in Cork’s prestigious St. Luke’s Cathedral and Everyman Theatre, as well as headlining Cork’s Cyprus Avenue, Galway’s Roisín Dubh and Dublin’s Whelan’s Upstairs, their debut EP is set for release in January 2025; now, Pebbledash introduce their blend of ethereal guitar noise and traditional Irish music with the double single Killer Lover/Carraig Aonair and most recently Tell Me, , which landed them a spot on Spotify Editorial playlist; Hot New Bands.

With their discography already boasting nearly 30,000 streams on Spotify, Pebbledash is on the brink of greater things. They are currently immersed in the creation of an ambitious and experimental EP, slated for early 2025 release, which will delve deeper into their innovative sound.
