To celebrate the 40th anniversary for The Sisters Of Mercy’s debut album ‘First And Last And Always’, a 4LP black and red marble coloured vinyl set is to be released on 4 July 2025.
It includes the original album alongside the three EP’s that preceded its release – ‘Body & Soul’, ’Walk Away’ and ‘No Time To Cry’. Each EP features non-album bonus tracks. The main album will also be available as a standalone LP in its original gatefold jacket with printed inner bag and also come on black and red marble coloured vinyl.
Formed in Leeds by guitarist Gary Marx and vocalist Andrew Eldritch in 1980, they released ‘First And Last And Always’ in March 1985 and is the culmination of five years of independent releases that saw them build up a large cult following.
Their first release with Warner (who they signed to in 1984) it reached number 14 the UK Album Charts by which time the band featured Wayne Hussey on guitar and Craig Adams on bass – both of whom would later leave the band to form The Mission.
