The Magic Mod – has announced a headline date in his adopted city of Belfast at the Limelight

THE MAGIC MOD – aka Ben Taylor – a card magician and entertainer of huge esteem who can proudly
count himself as a member of the exclusive Magic Circle fraternity, has announced a date in his adopted
home of Belfast on Sunday 30 November at the Limelight. Born in Crawley in South London, he has lived
in Belfast for several years now and has previously supported The Libertines, Paul Weller and The Brian
Jonestown Massacre on tour, all people he can now call friends alongside the likes of Liam Gallagher,
Shaun Ryder and Rick Witter.

Ben has appeared on Sky Sports Soccer AM, considers former Fulham and West Ham United footballer
Tony Gayle as a friend and fan (“He’s good, the boy’s good, but can he head a ball?”) as well as journalist
and television broadcaster Eamonn Holmes (“I’ve met David Blaine and Dynamo but, for me, what Ben
did was the best I’ve ever seen”) and makes a cameo appearance on the Paul Weller album On Sunset.

He practices several hours every day, often more if he’s rushing to learn a new trick, and his act
subsequently perplexes, entertains and astonishes all those who witness it. Which is probably why
people endlessly return to see him perform and why his audiences are growing with every tour.
Reflecting on his journey into performing magic, Ben says:

“I first got into the art of magic at the age of six when my Mum and Dad bought me a Paul Daniels magic
set and I tried to learn at least one new trick every day. I became a professional magician when I turned 20
and I’m now doing card tricks that I really never knew I would be capable of.”

Expect to see a modern twist on the performances of the likes of Tommy Cooper with an air of danger
and dynamism that would befit the finest musicians, all executed with warmth and humour by a fella
who really wouldn’t look out of place in the best rock n roll band in the world.
