The K’s / The Rosecaps – Pretty On the Internet tour live gallery & review from Whelans, Dublin 16.04.2025

The K’s Bring the House Down at Whelan’s

Last night, Whelan’s felt like it was bursting at the seams as The K’s took the stage, they gave a performance that left the already excited crowd buzzing. The venue was packed from the front row to the back bar, with fans even lining the stairs and balcony. A diverse mix of ages filled the room, many proudly sporting their freshly bought merch.

The evening kicked off with Galway’s own The Rosecaps, a young band that’s quickly making a name for themselves. Their polished sound and energetic performance had the audience in the palm of their hands. I had listened to some of the lads stuff over the last month and they are really ones to keep an eye on. They’ve a good sense of humor and tracks that sum up what many 20-somethings are feeling. They touched on friends moving away to Australia, relationships, growing up and threw in a Lily Allen cover. With many around me searching them up as soon as their set ended. They’re definitely on an upward trajectory.

When The K’s hit the stage, drinks in hand, they immediately connected with the lrish crowd, joking about the enthusiastic heckling they usually receive here. Their setlist was a rollercoaster of emotions, featuring fan favorites like “Chancer,” “Heart on My Sleeve,” and “Sarajevo.” A highlight of the night was their new track Helen, Oh I, which was met with roaring approval. The band commented on how well the track has been received in its first 24 hours.

Despite the limited space, The K’s brought a professional setup that maximized every inch of the stage. Their tight performance and genuine interaction with the audience made for a great night and that authentic feeling you usually only get in smaller venues like this. If you ever get the chance to see them live, don’t miss it. They continue their tour on Friday when they head to Cardiff before finishing the month out with gigs in Sheffield and Hull.
