Irish singer, songwriter and electronic music producer Rory Hall—better known as Proper Micro NV—releases his sophomore album Microsaurus along with the music video for ‘Who else?’ via Strange Brew today. Hall celebrates the LP release with a show at Limerick’s Record Room on Friday, 18th October with The JLB (from Kero Kero Bonito). Tickets are €10 + fees and available here.
Hall says of Microsaurus: “I’ve been working on a new album for about five years or so. Microsaurus feels as right as it’s ever going to feel. It’s 11 tracks but it could have easily been about 30. I have to admit that I found it quite hard to trim everything down and let certain songs go, but that’s that. It’s truly the record I have always wanted to make—a big, electro-pop type of album.
“I really hope people like it and get something from it—an emotion, a reaction, a dance, a feeling.”
The music video for ‘Who else?’ shows Hall having a romantic, candlelit dinner with none other than the record itself. He explains: “I’ve had the idea for the ‘Who else?’ video for quite some time. I basically wrote the song about how much I love the music I’m making at the moment, the process of making Microsaurus as a whole and how therapeutic music is for me. I’ve truly always wanted to make this kind of record. I adore it, as you’ll see in the video.”
