Other Voices is thrilled to unveil the SECOND WAVE of exceptional artists set to join us in West Kerry from November 29th to December 1st for the 23rd edition of this iconic festival.
Building on the excitement of our initial announcement featuring the ethereal LAURA MARLING, UK rockers WUNDERHORSE, folk powerhouse LISA O’NEILL, the magnetic RACHAEL LAVELLE, and pop sensation MORGANA, we’re thrilled to reveal even more incredible acts who will grace the hallowed stage of St. James’ Church.
Joining the bill are BEEN STELLAR, the dynamic New York based band turning heads with their gritty, guitar-driven sound and powerful storytelling. Garnering acclaim from tastemakers like NME and BBC 6 Music, they’re celebrated for their raw fusion of post-punk energy and indie rock swagger that captures the visceral highs and lows of urban life. Been Stellar’s tightly packed live performances have become known for their anthemic yet introspective vibe, their highly anticipated performance at Other Voices will surely be one of the festival’s highlights.
British rapper, singer, and songwriter BASHY is celebrated for his sharp lyricism and socially conscious storytelling. Emerging from the UK grime and hip-hop scenes, he blends rap, reggae, and R&B influences in critically acclaimed projects. Returning to music in 2024, his new album Being Poor Is Expensive is an 11-track ode to coming of age in North West London, vividly capturing the trials and triumphs of his generation. He is also known as Ashley Thomas – actor and star of the critically acclaimed series (Top Boy, THEM, The Night Of). Bashy’s live performances are known for their high energy and emotional depth that leave lasting impressions.
FIONN REGAN has fine-tuned a sensibility of his own since the acoustic poetry of his debut album, 2006’s Mercury-shortlisted The End of History. Since then, he has travelled between band-based detours and the gleaming likes of 2011’s 100 Acres of Sycamore, whose worry-worn beauty Dogwood Blossom drew new audiences when it found kindred spirits in two TV shows, romantic lockdown hit Normal People and Shane Meadows’ This Is England 86. Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy featured in the video for 2017’s The Meeting Of The Waters while elsewhere Regan has been nominated for Choice, Meteor Ireland and Shortlist awards, sampled by Bon Iver, photographed by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair and made an honorary member of the Trinity College Literary Society.
Also new to the lineup is JACOB ALON, the Scottish singer-songwriter with a profound gift for storytelling. Both intimate and devastatingly introspective, their music is touched by a rare timelessness. Alon’s sound cuts through the air with their powerful and haunting vocals that will transport St James’ Church audience into a world of melancholy beauty.
NUBYA GARCIA is a saxophonist, producer, composer & arranger. A critically acclaimed multi-award winner, she has toured worldwide to sold-out audiences. The Irish Times recently described her as “one of the breakthrough international stars of the recent UK jazz boom,” with “music that feels at once epic, expansive and like a significant step forward.” As a composer, Garcia’s music can be heard on multiple shows including Apple TV (Ted Lasso), FX (Atlanta), and EPIC GAMES (Fortnite).
Joining them is LANDLESS, the acclaimed Irish vocal ensemble whose intricate four-part harmonies and deeply evocative renditions of traditional songs from Ireland, Scotland, and beyond have earned rave reviews, including a Folk Album of the Month accolade from The Guardian. Their performance will offer a poignant glimpse into the power of voice and tradition, perfectly suited to the intimate setting of St. James’ Church. “Landless’s four voices rise like a golden thread through traditional music, blending in dense, heavenly harmonies and weighty drones. Fans of Celtic and modern folk alike should flock to their stunning intensity.” – The Guardian (***** Folk Album of the Month).
