I have to admit, I was a little sceptical when being asked to photograph a comedy night. Being the photographer and moving through the crowd, I would be an easy target for some roasting, but thankfully I went almost unnoticed.
Right before the show however, I had a tap on my shoulder, lo and behold, it was Morgan Jay himself. Addressing me by my name too which caught me off guard.
Ye see I had posted a quick story on Instagram mentioning my shock of seeing rows of seats in the academy when I arrived, which is not something you see everyday, and I had tagged Mr Jay.
It’s nice to know that he pays attention to his fans on social media Lol.
Opening up the night was the Irish legend himself Martin Angelo. The true winner of Last one Laughing Ireland (IMO) Lol.
Following on from Martin we were greeted by Morgan’s best mate, Michael Schirtzer who started his routine off by letting the crowd know that he was Jewish and in full support of the people of Palestine during this ongoing genocide. Which of course, got a huge eruption of applause and cheers from the crowd. He then went on to talk about his sexual kinks and asked the crowd if they like to use sex toys in the bedroom, as ya do Lol.
Without breaking a sweat, we finally get to Morgan Jay running onto the stage, jumping off the stage, and back onto the stage again in order to get the energies high.
This kid certainly was unable to sit still in school, that’s for sure.
Morgan’s routine was full on crowd interaction and had everyone in stitches, including myself. A comedy special that included auto tune singing from the crowd, deep conversations about meeting your loved one in Dealz, which alien would you fuck, and a beautiful acoustic track about the horrific abuse one gets within the comment section of Tik Tok.
If this guy comes to your city, you’d be a silly goose not to buy tickets.
