Sans Soucis – releases single ‘Sexed & Sexual’ the first installment from their forthcoming debut album

Today, Italian-born, London-based rising star Sans Soucis (they/them) releases single ‘Sexed & Sexual’, the first installment from their forthcoming debut album Circumnavigating Georgia, due for release later this year via Decca.

‘Sexed & Sexual’ sees the emerging stars’ vocals cascade over a sweat-soaked bassline and a four-to-the-floor beat as they delve into hyper-sexualisation and the murky waters of a hormone-driven desire for sexual liberation. Directed by C.T Robert and shot in Mexico, the visuals show a story told through the lens of a young queer, black person growing up in Italy. Speaking on the track Sans Soucis says: “When I was a teenager, I overlooked situations that I shouldn’t have been involved in,’ they say of the song. “I don’t blame myself for it. That’s why I really wanted to explore all of these aspects. The album was kind of exercising my guilt and actually being like, ‘Listen, it is what it is. It happened the way it happened and it’s not my fault.’”

Circumnavigating Georgia will see the writer and producer Sans Soucis take us through their coming of age and the reclamation of their identity, tearing apart systemic patriarchy and anti-blackness that’s impacted their life. Each track on the album is set to introduce the audience to a new sonic palette, influenced by both the music and personal experiences from Sans Soucis’ teenage and early adulthood.

Later this year, Sans Soucis will also debut this live music for the first time as part of a headline run of UK & EU dates. Full dates below
