Mia Karlsson has just released her debut solo album ”Coming Home” and we had the chance to check it out. Known for her previous work with the hard rock band Crucified Barbara, Mia now presents a completely different musical identity showing also some acoustic guitar skills after playing so many years on her flying V.
After taking a break from music due to burnout, this return feels both personal and powerful — It’s clear that going through such a vulnerable period made her stronger, and she’s turned that difficult chapter into something truly beautiful.
The album opens with “Breathe Now,” a song she released earlier as a single. It’s a touching tribute to a friend from her past who passed away, and it sets the tone with heartfelt lyrics and emotional depth.
Following that we have “Would You,” released alongside a beautiful music video. The track feels like an intimate conversation with herself — dark, deep, and introspective.
Then we have the track “Safe,” which introduces a subtle country vibe, blending perfectly with Mia’s warm and expressive voice, bringing us to the next song, “Nothing in My Heart.” The first single from the album and first music she delivered to the world, it was also a strong and good choice — it’s instantly catchy and emotionally resonant. Then it brings us to the next song “Quiet” which continues the reflective atmosphere, keeping the listener grounded in her story, and with the same vibe, we have “Embrace” – It is one of the most emotional tracks from the album. It’s dark and heavy, as if she poured all her feelings into it — a song about strength and holding it together.
And next “Something on My Mind” – it takes a surprising turn with a totally different vibe and style, showing Mia’s versatility and she continues to demonstrate this same range in the next songs “Save Me Now” and “I Am Not the One” – both also keep the emotional momentum going, offering introspective lyrics and atmospheric sounds.
The album closes with “Come Home,” a track with a country flavor that feels like a warm goodbye — or maybe a welcome back.
Overall, Mia Karlsson’s debut album is honest, emotional, and full of heart. It’s a reflection of her personal journey, and her ability to turn vulnerability into strength makes this a powerful and unforgettable release. Beyond the beauty of her voice, it’s clear how talented she is.
