Irish singer Moio – has shared the new single ‘remember my name’

Rising alternative R&B visionary MOIO releases ‘remember my name’, a brand new single ushering in his next creative chapter – listen HERE. Wah-soaked guitar glimmers over a thick bassline as MOIO delivers one of his most personal songs yet. On ‘remember my name’, the Nigerian-Irish singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist reflects on his family’s immigration story, honoring the sacrifices that shaped his life while grappling with identity, legacy, and purpose. He urges, “Take another look in the mirror. This life is like a merry-go-round…better to hold on tight.”

“‘remember my name’ is a much deeper song for me. I’m a first-generation immigrant. I was born in Ireland, but my roots are in Nigeria. My mom tells this story about being pregnant with me and hopping on a flight to Ireland even though I was supposed to be born the next day in Nigeria. It’s an ode to her and everything she left behind to give us a new life. I have a responsibility to become even a fraction of how great a person she is.

The new single marks another step in MOIO’s evolving artistic journey. Blending otherworldly R&B, organic alternative, and psychedelic soul, he continues carving out a lane entirely his own, pairing expansive production with deeply introspective songwriting. ‘remember my name’ arrives on the heels of recent singles ‘we fall’ and ‘Just A Man’, each exploring different facets of vulnerability, accountability, and personal transformation.

On ‘Just A Man’, MOIO confronted the gap between who we are and who we hope to become. Built around a hypnotic bassline, head-nodding drums, and bursts of buzzing distortion, the track showcased his raw honesty and expanding sonic palette.

“It’s about expectations,” MOIO previously shared. “You’re in a relationship and you’re self-aware enough to know you can’t give love the way your significant other deserves to be loved. You’re being honest and saying, ‘I wish I could be that person, but it’s not who I am right now.'”

He continued that emotional exploration with ‘we fall’, turning inward to examine vulnerability, emotional collapse, and the complexities of human connection. Together, the three singles reveal an artist increasingly unafraid to explore identity, responsibility, and growth with remarkable clarity.

The new music builds on the momentum of MOIO’s breakout success. His single ‘Moments’ has surpassed 25 million Spotify streams and reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 chart in seven countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, and Ireland. His Earthday EP further established his genre-blurring vision, earning praise from Ones To Watch and Hunger for its emotional depth and fearless songwriting. Beyond his solo work, MOIO is also a co-founder of the creative collective Chamomile Club alongside Monjola, Aby Coulibaly, and Thomas Kettle, championing a new generation of Black Irish artists while continuing to push the boundaries of alternative R&B.

MOIO creates the soundtrack to breaking all of the rules, bursting out of the matrix, and brandishing true freedom. Even gravity can’t ground the Nigerian-Irish singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist as he effortlessly floats between otherworldly R&B, organic alternative, and psychedelic soul, taking flight as a genre-agnostic outlier. Immersed in music since his childhood, the Dublin-raised multi-hyphenate initially broke through in 2023. Early tracks a la “SUNBEAMING” and “Open Your Eyes” captivated listeners, but “Moments” surged as an international phenomenon. Thus far, it has eclipsed 25 million Spotify streams and counting in addition to reaching #1 on the Spotify Viral 50 Chart in seven countries, including the US, UK, and Ireland. It set the stage for the arrival of his Earthday EP in 2025. Of the latter, OnesToWatch declared, “MOIO’s guitar-driven compositions create euphoric moments that resonate with listeners who want authentic emotional voyages,” and Hunger attested, “It’s not everyday that a musician seamlessly blends indie, R&B and soul into a collection of tracks about being as forthright as possible.” Along the way, he performed with Florence Road and Hudson Freeman in addition to gracing the bills of festivals such as Forbidden Fruit, The Great Escape, and more. Amassing tens of millions of streams and receiving widespread acclaim worldwide, he now taps into the tone of evolution itself with his new music in 2026.
