Introducing Cardboard, a four-piece band from London that have arrived to kindle a youthful spirit of defiance, determination and lightning-bolt chemistry reminiscent of the 00’s indie scene. They’ll play a free show this upcoming Monday (27th Jan) at London’s Sebright Arms as part of Independent Venue Week.
Sharing ‘Pipe Dream’ last year, they have now shared the new single single ‘Wouldn’t Let You Realise’ that’s steeped in classic, garage-band influences, yet bearing a strikingly contemporary resonance.
Frontman/guitarist Dan Hacker says of the single “Wouldn’t Let You Realise is about you, your friend, your partner, your sibling, anyone who’s ever been blind to someone who is only out to tear them down. Picking apart the pieces of life that make them whole all the while distracting them with lies and false promises
It comes from the perspective of a bystander, who tries to pull the blanket from over their eyes to no avail. The music around the words embodies the anger and frustration of the third party watching this relationship play out, while seemingly not being able to do anything to help.”
