Iconic garage punk band Surfbort – return today with new single “Jessica’s Changed”

Iconic garage punk band Surfbort return today with new single “Jessica’s Changed”, the second track to emerge from their third album ‘Reality Star’, due on March 6th – in time to celebrate International Women’s Day. Watch the wild video for Jessica’s Changed, directed by Pooneh Ghana, below.

‘Reality Star’ is the band’s first album since 2021’s ‘Keep On Truckin’, and will be their debut release on new label Todo Records. The album strikes the perfect balance between life’s harsh realities and the delusional dream we all chase to make existence a little more bearable. It’s a record that celebrates contradiction; raw yet dreamy, chaotic yet deeply alive. Frontwoman Dani Miller’s vocals are a force of nature: dynamic, unfiltered, and fiercely human. She moves effortlessly from brash, low-frequency punk poetry to airy, melodic pop-punk interludes, all tied together by that iconic Dani twang that’s instantly recognizable. The result is a sound that feels both modern and nostalgic, a reminder of when we had to romanticize our chaos just to keep going.

JESSICA’S CHANGED

Originally emerging from Brooklyn’s punk scene, Surfbort has proven that their cult-cool energy transcends coasts. Drawing inspiration from the raw power of 1980s punk, they create explosive, feedback-drenched anthems that reject the digital age’s intolerance and celebrate love, inclusion, and friendship. Everyone is welcome in the Surfbort Freak Family. The band has performed at Coachella and shared stages with Idles, Wolf Alice, The Garden, The Dickies, Martin Rev, Tijuana Panthers, Fat White Family, and Viagra Boys, among others. Their reputation for authenticity and chaos continues to earn praise from peers and critics alike.

It’s no surprise that Julian Casablancas of The Strokes/The Voidz handpicked Surfbort for his label, Cult Records. Legendary rock producer Linda Perry signed them, releasing their album Keep On Truckin’ in October 2021. Surfbort performed in the 2019 Pre-Fall GUCCI campaign directed by Glen Luchford. Miller became the face of Gucci Beauty’s global launch, while drummer Sean Powell served as the inspiration for the lead character in the Academy Award–winning film Sound of Metal.
