Elaphi is a Dublin based four-piece band founded in 2021 by songwriter and guitarist Sara Barberio, along with Jacopo Stofler (guitar), Federico Camici (bass), and Grim Nordahl (drums). Elaphi music incorporates moody folk with the subtle enchantment of hushed electronics. Inspired by artists such as Warpaint, Daughter, and Radiohead, Elaphi’s music blends ethereal yet punchy compositions, evoking a sense of introspection and intimacy. The band’s name, inspired by the Greek word “Elaphos,” meaning deer, symbolises both vulnerability and strength, qualities intrinsic to the majestic creature and seamlessly intertwined within the band’s artistic expression. Each member of Elaphi contributes with their unique vision and musical skills, which leads to the creation of their impactful compositions. The sonic elements crafted by Elaphi capture the imperfections and vulnerability that intricately shape the human journey.
With their debut single “Diamond Walls” Elaphi captured the attention of the industry including people like John Kennedy on Radio X “I think they are absolutely fantastic” and Dan Hegarty on RTE 2FM “A band I definitely want to hear more from”.
The Wind
Elaphi is set to release their third single, “The Wind,” serving as the closing track of their anticipated debut EP. “The Wind” is a journey through the power of the natural element, blending vulnerability with strength in a powerful musical experience.
Beginning with a stripped-down arrangement of guitar and vocals, “The Wind” invites listeners into a space of raw emotions. As the song progresses, layers of instrumentation are gradually introduced, symbolising the evolving strength and resilience inherent within the human spirit.
Each track within the “The Wind” EP embodies a collective experience, uniting every member of the project. Including three distinct compositions, each song tells its own story. Crafted with unique sounds, tempos, and emotions, every track reflects the personal experiences and sentiments of each band member throughout the creative process. It is a shared journey of artistic expression and vision.
