Chicago band Friko — vocalist/guitarist Niko Kapetan and drummer Bailey Minzenberger — share a new live video for ‘Chemical‘ from their debut album, Where we’ve been, Where we go from here (out now on ATO Records). The video is the third in a series of live performances filmed at Treehouse Records in Chicago by Alex Basse, following the previously released ‘Crashing Through‘ and ‘Where We’ve Been‘. Perfectly capturing the band’s infectious live energy, which has been hailed by Rolling Stone as feeling “like they were putting it all on the line,” Kapetan’s vocals and distorted guitar is highlighted by Minzenberger’s breakneck drumming, proving why the band has garnered just as much acclaim for their live performance as they have for their recorded catalog.
Since its release in February, Where we’ve been, Where we go from here has been warmly received with glowing reviews and features from Pitchfork, SPIN, Rolling Stone, Our Culture, Alternative Press, Chicago Sun-Times, Paste, UPROXX, FLOOD, and more. NPR Music’s All Songs Considered podcast featured album standout ‘Get Numb To It!‘, and album tracks have received playlisting from Apple‘s UNTITLED, Matt Wilkinson‘s playlist, Spotify’s MARROW, New Music Daily, New In Indie, New In Rock and more. Influential radio stations WXRT, SiriusXMU, KUTX, WYMS, and KCMP are also spinning the record, and the album recently charted in the top 10 on the NACC TOP 200 College Radio chart. The band also recently returned from a successful showing at SXSW, garnering rave live reviews and coverage from Rolling Stone, NME, Teen Vogue and more throughout the week.
