Dublin Alt-Rock Duo Alpine Skies – Release Soaring New Single “Walls”

Introduced by mutual friends, members Kevin Homan and Darren Farrell discovered an instant creative chemistry that would soon unfold into what will be their debut album – an evocative, layered collection of songs shaped by wide skies, still landscapes, and inner journeys.

Rooted in melody and emotion, their music fuses cinematic textures with raw lyricism, weaving stories of distance, reconnection, memory, and rebirth. Each song is a window into a world both personal and expansive- music for those moments when time feels suspended.

Alpine Skies is less a project and more a horizon. Something always moving forward, quietly powerful, and always just out of reach, building in silence, through “inspired conflicts” – their forthcoming album’s title.

“Walls” is the duo’s powerful second single, and follows the hypnotic By Your Side” which started the band’s engrossing first chapter on June 6th.  Self-produced and recorded with the expertise and knowledge of Sean Hurley in Little Bear Studios, Dublin, the single was mastered by the talented Gabe Wolf in his home studio in LA.

“Walls” holds the value of memories at its core.  Valuing, not loss or absence, but the fact that something ever was.

Whether a memory breathes regret, hope or longing, it resonates uniquely with each listener. Still, the song’s ethos stems from optimism, and how regardless of the now, and any possible void, the future can always bring new beginnings, and, in some respects, the belief that what once was may come back together again.  Lead vocalist Kevin Homan explains:

“The overall style is one of a relentless drive to cling on to those possibilities. Listening to, and experimenting with alternate tunings at home during the writing process, allowed the whole structure of “Walls” to take shape. The song and melody followed closely to that idea of hope within your grasp, and followed a relentless drive through least path resistance toward those possibilities. Aside from myself and Darren’s performances, we also had the added abilities and musicianship of Gavin Fox (Vega4, Idlewild, Turn, Little Matador and Concerto for Constantine) and Paul ‘Binzer’ Brennan (Founding member of The Frames, The Waterboys, Bellx1, Gemma Hayes, Mundy, Little Matador, Concerto for Constantine) tracking the recording of bass and drums in the live studio, which provided a solid foundation to build upon. The challenge thereafter was in doing justice to their great ability!”

In Dublin’s buzzing alternative scene, Alpine Skies emerge as a beacon of something deeper, exploring the profound, the mundane, the tangible and the ineffable – finding connection, strength and meaning across all.
