Dark folk trio Saltaire recently released their new single ‘Matty Groves’, featuring acclaimed banjo player Ryan McAuley of ALFI.
Last weekend saw the trio perform an exceptional set at All Together Now as guests of Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, following their appearance at Forest Fest alongside Frankie Gavin and De Danann, which saw vocalist and cellist Kaitlin Cullen-Verhauz perform a stunning rendition of ‘The Foggy Dew’ to a packed out tent.
Saltaire have just announced a single launch gig for ‘Matty Groves’ at The Turks Head Basement, Parliment Street, Dublin on Tuesday 19th August at 7pm. Media guest list available – please let us know if you’d like to attend!
Receiving RTÉ Radio 1 Recommends list inclusion and strong national airplay for debut original single ‘The Axe’ in May, ‘Matty Groves’ is Saltaire’s unique take on the popular traditional folk song, that helps continue to frame their ascent as compelling new players in the contemporary Irish folk and trad scene.
