Darren Kiely / Odhran Murphy – Live at The Gleneagle INEC Arena Killarney 30.12.2024

Darren Kiely delivered what could surely be considered a career-defining performance on December 30, 2024, at the INEC Gleneagle Arena in Killarney. As he spoke about on social media, the show drew the largest number of tickets he has ever sold, marking a significant milestone in his rising career.

The setlist featured fan favorites like “Mom and Dad,” “Late Texts,” “Ocean,” “Slow Decay,” “Blood Red,” and “Lost and Found.” The night ended on a high with an encore that included a rousing and touching rendition of “Fairytale of New York” and his hit single “Sunrise,” leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement. Darren was supported during his set by the incredibly talented and well experienced duo of Jake Richardson and Aaron Haigh. The trio had a great connection that made the whole show run smoothly.

One of the standout moments of the evening was when Kiely left the stage and performed in the center of the crowd, creating a close, personal connection with his fans that made the night truly special.

Opening the night was rising star Odhran Murphy, whose music was warmly received by the audience. A significant portion of the crowd was familiar with his original tracks, and his covers were performed with energy and confidence, setting the perfect tone for the main event. After the show, Kiely stayed for over an hour to meet with every fan who wanted to see him, taking the time to talk, sign autographs, and express his gratitude. This rare gesture highlighted his down-to-earth nature and strong bond with his supporters. His genuine appreciation and willingness to engage personally with his audience is a rare quality among artists of his stature.

With a huge year ahead, including major dates like the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin on March 13, 2025, which will be the biggest headline show of his career to date, Darren Kiely is clearly on an upward trajectory. His performance at Killarney demonstrated not only his talent but also his ability to connect with audiences in a way that feels genuine and impactful.
