As the fifth night of MCD’s Trinity Summer Series unfolded beneath the historic surroundings of Trinity College Dublin, the venue once again proved why it has become one of the capital’s most atmospheric summer concert destinations. With the evening sun casting a golden glow across the campus, fans gathered in anticipation for an emotional night of live music, headlined by one of Ireland’s fastest-rising stars, Cian Ducrot.
Opening the evening was Jamie McIntyre, whose heartfelt songwriting and warm stage presence quickly won over the growing crowd. Blending folk-pop melodies with honest lyricism, McIntyre delivered a confident set that balanced intimate acoustic moments. His easy rapport with the audience made him the perfect choice to ease concertgoers into the night, leaving many discovering a new favourite artist.
When Cian Ducrot took to the stage he was greeted by deafening cheers, the Cork singer-songwriter wasted no time launching into a set packed with soaring vocals, emotional storytelling, and chart favourites. Tracks such as “Heaven” and “I’ll Be Waiting” were met with mass singalongs, with the Trinity crowd enthusiastically supplying every word.
Ducrot’s greatest strength remains his ability to make every audience feel like an intimate gathering. His powerful vocals were flawless throughout, effortlessly moving between tender ballads and uplifting anthems.
The picturesque backdrop of Trinity College only added to the magic, with the historic architecture contrasting beautifully against a thoroughly modern pop performance. As the fifth instalment of this year’s Trinity Summer Series, the concert showcased exactly what makes the event such a highlight of Dublin’s live music calendar: exceptional artists, an unforgettable setting, and an audience eager to celebrate live music. Cian Ducrot delivered a performance full of heart, proving once again why his star continues to rise.
