I really love seeing Lōwli’s name pop up in my inbox, there’s something truly special about the way she crafts music. Every release feels so emotionally precise, but Woven might just be her most captivating piece to date. The first time I listened, I was driving late at night and I genuinely felt like everything around me was slowing. The second time, I sat by the beach near home, letting the sound wash over me. Both times, the result was the same: total calm, total escape.
Woven is a solo piano piece, but it’s anything but simple. It constantly reinvents itself as it goes, there are dips, shifts and delicate swells but it never loses its emotional thread. That’s what I love about it. It quietly gains your attention with its softness. It feels like nature in motion. You can hear the influence of seasonal change and subtle optimism that Lōwli has mentioned about the piece.
The use of the 1920’s upright Forster piano adds so much texture. It gives Woven a real, physical intimacy, as if you’re sitting right beside Lōwli while she plays. That rawness, combined with the beautifully arranged melodies, makes it easy to see why there’s so much attention around Lōwli.
What struck me most is how the track makes you feel connected. To nature, to yourself, maybe even to a memory or a moment you didn’t realise you’d forgotten. It’s soothing and stirring. Another masterpiece by such a talented artist.
”Woven” gets a very well deserved 8 out of 10
