Borderline Festival in its second year a festival that showcases forward facing acts both from Ireland and abroad ran this year on the 21st & 22nd of February.
I only managed to make the second night and only manged to be there for two acts as it was all i could fit in due to time constraints.
Two acts which I have wanted to see for sometime now and glad i could even fit those in.
Act one was Galway garage punk band Adore a band that say they are going to save rock and roll.
They opened the night in the main room of the venue. Usually one can expect being the opening band that the room might not have so many in it, but Adore have been making a stir around Dublin and Ireland so by the time the band took the stage it was full and well deserved and this guys are fantastic.
The set was full of energy and contained nine songs.
Act two were Freak Slug from Manchester who is soon to head off on a US & EU tour.
The stage was set for them in a haze of smoke as it bellowed out at one point making it all you could see, but thankfully this started to clear before the band took the stage.
Again the room was packed and this time had heated up a bit as the band opened up with ”Hello” the song now, not by just saying hello lol, after that it was tracks like ”Sexy Lemon” & ”Witch” accompanied by five others in the set that keep the crowd happy throughout and ending with ”Spells”
