PostLast – Share Their Latest New Single ‘Circling’

Alt-pop duo PostLast have released their introspective new single ‘Circling’.

Launched in 2024 to satisfy your alt-pop music needs, PostLast is a meeting of two musical minds: Vocalist and visual artist Julie Hough (HAVVK) and guitarist and producer Stephen McHale (BARQ, Tolu Makay, Christian Cohle, Róisín El Cherif, Maria Kelly).

Their first release since 2025’s ‘Scavenge (Birthday Problem Remix)’ , ‘Circling’ is a hazy, uptempo release about the imprint that relationships leave on us, even long after they have ended.  The band explain:

“It’s wild to think that someone who you were once completely entangled with can now be living a whole different life, but both of you will still be forever changed by your time together. Certain places, songs, turns of phrases can send you right back there and pop that person’s face in your mind in an instant.”

The lyrics accept that you will never quite shake that sense of occasional déjà vu, and find gratitude in the time you had together and the separate paths the relationship led you to:

And it’s all been seen from space,

And it always leaves its trace,

There’s something about this place.

Mixed by Scott Halliday and mastered by Matt Harris (HAVVK), the single is dashed with warm, reverb-soaked instrumentation from McHale and softly-delivered vocals from Hough – a stunning contrast to the powerful, anthemic style she delivers in HAVVK.
