Briars – Share Rousing New Single ‘What Harm’ And Announce EP ‘For All That You Know’

Cork city-based indie-folk band BRIARS have released their rousing new single ‘What Harm’.

The single comes with the announcement of debut EP For All That You Know, releasing Friday, February 5th 2027.

With a sound that ranges from fragile subtlety to raucous energy, BRIARS weave shades of alternative folk, indie, pop, rock and Irish traditional music that combine into a sprawling and irresistibly energetic sound. Their upcoming EP marks a defining chapter for the six-piece, building on the incredible musical chemistry they have found in their current lineup.

Having shared bills with groups such as The Scratch, The Wran, Leevy and Billow Wood and performing at some of the country’s leading folk festivals (Whelan’s Folk and Trad Fest, Galway Folk Festival, Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, Cork Roots Festival) alongside Electric Picnic and more, the band are quickly gaining “must-see” status as a live act.

‘What Harm’ grew out of the band’s experience of finding their feet after experimenting with different lineups. When the current six-piece came together, things finally clicked, and the song became a reflection of the freedom of starting fresh and giving something one more go.

The song title was inspired by a late-night conversation following a gig at Connolly’s of Leap, where the band were staying in an old convent. When fiddle player Bran Murphy suggested that “one more” drink couldn’t do much harm, the phrase stuck.

Beneath its playful, carefree feel, the track carries a wider message about taking chances and putting your energy into something you care about and not being afraid to start again.

It offers another exciting taste of what’s to expect from debut EP For All That You Know, arriving in early 2027.
