Rowdy Outsider are a pop punk band from Drogheda, Ireland consisting of vocalist Matthew Doyle, bassist Conor Whearty and drummer Sean Murtagh.
The band’s first offering of 2024 ‘When You’re Gone’ has catapulted the band to new heights with radio support from BBC Radio 1, Hot Press Magazine’s ‘Track of the Day’ and widespread coverage from GoldenPlec, The Last Mixed Tape and First Music Contact.
“VICTIMS is about the people we meet in our lives and how time can change those relationships. Lyrically, it’s about loving someone but the time not being right, wondering if we were wrong in the past and fearing it’s just not meant to be in the future. The title comes from the idea that we are all victims of time passing us by faster than we realise. It’s a side step from what we’ve released from our upcoming debut EP so far. Sonically, VICTIMS is influenced by the likes of U2 and The 1975 with a lot of more ambience from the drums, guitars and vocals. We love big rock ballads and VICTIMS is our offering while staying true to our pop punk influences.”
Rowdy Outsider
The band are gearing up to release their debut EP ‘Different Heart to Break’ this spring. A 6 song, ballad-heavy punk tale of navigating love, loss and confusion during the strangest years of everyone’s lives.
After 2023 saw the release of ‘2 DEAD CATS’ and ‘Causing My Insanity’ which landed on Spotify editorials New Music Friday UK and A Breath of Fresh Eire alongside radio play from the likes of RTE 2FM, Rowdy Outsider are making a name for themselves with their eclectic brand of modern Irish pop punk. Known for their passionate, high energy live performances and accomplished recordings, it won’t be long before Rowdy Outsider are Ireland’s next great rock export.
