San Rocco sound like the kind of band built for sticky club floors and blown out basement speakers. On “Manners”, the Dublin outfit channel a twitchy, volatile energy that feels equal parts confrontation and chaotic, high voltage burst of post-punk that never loosens its grip.
Blending driving grooves, distorted guitars and manic synth textures, the track stomps forward with the swagger of Viagra Boys while carrying the rain soaked tension and cinematic grit of Fontaines D.C.. But San Rocco aren’t simply recycling influences. There’s something nastier and more theatrical lurking underneath “Manners” a sense that the whole thing could spiral apart at any second.
Lyrically, the single tears into ideas of etiquette and “good behaviour”, turning social restraint into controlled chaos. Every sneering vocal line feels like a jab at performative politeness, while the instrumental itself sounds like a room slowly collapsing under pressure. The band’s dark lyrical style gives the track a sharp edge, but it’s the atmosphere that really sticks, anxious, cinematic, and slightly unhinged.
“Manners” doesn’t ask for your attention politely. It kicks the door in, spills a drink on the carpet, and dares you to complain.
