Electro-pop évocateur Viola Odette Harlow, formally known as Glüme, releases her new single, ‘Timebomb’, taken from her upcoming album P*rn Star which will be released on Friday 14th March via Viola’s own label, Play Girl Records.
On ‘Timebomb’, Viola embarks upon an alt-pop escapade that demonstrates her proficiency as a songwriter who attains the ability to enlist a multitude of styles and themes to create a sound that is unmistakably hers. Using electro-pop as the compass, the L.A-based artist subsequently blends synth-pop together with indie-pop and to create one of her most stimulating singles to date.
Speaking about ‘Timebomb’, Viola said…
“Timebomb is a break up song with the concept of time itself. When you have certain diseases you have to say goodbye to a lot of things sooner than you normally would have to. It was really hard to film this dance number but I wanted one more in my music videos as a goodbye to it. I have to grieve my old self and the lives I could have lived with them had nothing gone wrong. I think basing your identity on a past self you can’t access can only become a jail cell. I have a very complicated relationship with time that I’m trying to heal but right now we aren’t on great terms.”
