UK Decay – have been announced as the final act at Whitby’s Tomorrow’s Ghosts Festival 2025

You want it darker? Then TOMORROW’S GHOSTS HALLOWEEN GATHERING is here to serve…

In 2025, the greatest Gothic weekender in the north will be back with a line-up sleeker than Whitby jet. Completing that line-up today, the festival is very pleased to confirm the addition of its final act… UK DECAY.

Contemporaries of Bauhaus, with an arguably equal claim to their gothic crown, TOMORROW’S GHOSTS fans will need little introduction to these post-punk originals. Formed in Luton in 1979, UK Decay built a large and dedicated international fan base on the back of politically charged, thunderous releases, and high intensity gigs. Described as ‘The Cult before The Cult’ by one journalist, their dark, angular releases included 1981 classic debut album ‘For Madmen Only’ and reunion album ‘New Hope For The Dead’ (2013).

Back for their first shows since 2019, singer Abbo says of the band’s resurrection:

“I had no interest in being part of a band again, but… a voice said, “get out there again and try and be a voice for good in these unjust times”.”

While, Guitarist Spoon adds:

“It is a privilege to return to Whitby and be part of the Tomorrow’s Ghost Festival Line Up. Whitby is steeped in gothic history, imagery and emotion,  which we will try and harness when we take the stage…”

Returning to music for an expanded reissue of their debut album and just two live dates, their TOMORROW’S GHOSTS appearance promises to be a thing of rare beauty. Miss this at your peril.

UK Decay replace the previously announced High Parasite, who are unfortunately no longer able to perform at the event this year.
