Two Door Cinema Club brought Fairview Park to life with a feel-good performance packed with shimmering guitar hooks, tight musicianship and infectious energy. Fans online consistently praised the band’s polished live sound, crowd interaction and ability to turn the outdoor venue into one huge singalong. Opening with Cigarettes in the Theatre set the tone immediately, while favourites including I Can Talk, Something Good Can Work, Sleep Alone and Undercover Martyn kept the energy high throughout. Wonderful Life and Sun added a more expansive, atmospheric feel, before the band closed with an explosive encore of What You Know, sending the Dublin crowd home on a high.
Having only seen the band once before at Glastonbury in 2011, it was striking to see how much they have grown. Back then they were fresh-faced newcomers, with frontman Alex Trimble notably sans beard, whereas today’s band exudes the confidence and polish that comes from more than a decade of touring together. The youthful energy is still there, but it’s now matched by the assurance of seasoned performers.
For new fans, Two Door Cinema Club’s rise has been one of indie rock’s great success stories. Formed in Bangor, County Down, in 2007, the trio broke through with their acclaimed 2010 debut album Tourist History, whose irresistible mix of angular guitars, electronic flourishes and unforgettable melodies earned them an international following. They have since evolved their sound across multiple albums while remaining one of Ireland’s most reliable and exciting live acts.
