Thrown / Heriot / Words That Burn – live gallery and review from The Academy Dublin 11.08.2025

The Academy in Dublin was packed for a big night of heavy music. Three bands took the stage — Ireland’s Words That Burn, UK’s Heriot, and Swedish headliners Thrown, playing their first-ever Irish show.

Words That Burn kicked things off with a powerful set that mixed big choruses and heavy riffs. As a local band, they got a huge welcome, and the crowd was with them from the first song.

Heriot followed with their debut Dublin performance. Their sound was heavy, intense, and full of atmosphere, showing exactly why they’re gaining attention across the UK and beyond.

Finally, Thrown hit the stage. From the opening note, the energy was electric. Their mix of crushing grooves and dark mood kept the pit moving all the way to the end.

It was a night where all three bands impressed, and one that proved Dublin is still a great city for loud, heavy music.
