This Thursday will see queer Irish rising star of Alt-Pop Chubby Cat – releases the Single ‘GOT HOPE’ from Debut EP

‘GOT HOPE‘ is the penultimate single from Chubby Cats debut EP (more on that later) and is another darkly infectious Alt Pop earworm out Thursday October 24th

It’s been an incredible year for Chubby Cat, being named one of the 2FM Rising Acts for 2024, and having ‘Big Dog Barking’ nominated for a RTE Choice Prize Song Of The Year, Chubby Cat has hit the ground running in 2024.
She then went on to be names as Gay Times Breakthrough Artist for 2024, District Magazines ‘Future of Irish Music Acts and played festivals all over Europe.
BBC Introducing ATL have just announced Chubby Cat has been nominated as one of their Artists of The Year and single ‘QUIET’ has been nominated for Single of The Year at the NI Music Prize in November

Her recent live includes ESNS, The Great EscapePrimavera Pro, Forbidden Fruit, Brighton Pride, Stendhall Festival, Boardmasters, Electric Picnic, Radar Festival in Zurich and Pro Weekender in Spain. Needless to say, it’s been a busy few months for this exciting Irish rising star of alt electropop.

The Cork via Dublin via London and now based in Belfast pop artist is doing it on her own terms to astonishing effect. Her vocals are second to none and musically she experiments with new styles, accruing a hardcore fan base everywhere she goes

GOT HOPE is the darkly seductive earworm with pulsing electronic basslines and the sharp production of Matt Weir.
Written in Chubby Cats words by “a whole bunch of besties, resulting in the ultimate song of friendship”.
S
he’s enlisted the talents of Simon Francis, Kris Platt, Ben Murray and Matt Weir to create the penultimate single from her forthcoming Debut EP.

“GOT HOPE’ is the final single before the release of my debut EP. This song holds the essence of how impactful creating my EP has been on my life and person at the heart of it. By talking about my constant living in hope that people find joy in what I’m doing, but also in anticipation that I’m not good enough to succeed as an Artist.
The want to give up and run home in constant conflict with the need to keep going to feel true fulfilment.
Created with people with whom I spend all my time with, this song is very close to my heart.” –
Chubby Cat
