Some fantastic Alt-country / Gothic-country went down last night at Ryans Bar Kilkenny in the form of The Southern Fold. Hank Williams and Kurt Cobain are cited as among some influences on the band, who back in 2016 released their debut EP ‘A True Ascension from the Wayward Path’ followed in 2019 by their debut album ‘Bible Fear’ (Which by the way is a great piece of work) but like many bands at the time they were forced into a hiatus due to yep we all know due to what, anyway the band have got themselves back together and played to a full room in the back of Ryan’s Bar not only to my delight but to all in attendance. Fingers crossed this is the start of seeing the band back out on the road and playing plenty more live dates. If you see a date near you, be sure to check it out, you wont be disappointed!
