Last gig of the year for myself. And what an ending it was.
Spirit Store, Dundalk, was turned into a sweaty, hairy, high energy pit fuelled by the Guinness.
What initially looked like a venue fit for a country dance off, quickly moulded into the perfect venue for this legendary Irish 4 piece. Although I would imagine that any venue The Scratch touch, is possessed by the energy they create.
We recently heard the sad news that former guitarist, Jordan O Leary was parting ways with the band and following on his own musical path. Last night, however, I got to see a stellar performance from his perfectly fitted replacement, Gary Regan.
Nothing will stop this band from powering through the music scene and the quick change of line up just proved this last night.
New album on the horizon for 2025 so keep your ears and eyes peeled for these boyz.
Porter Boys Social Club opened up the night after a late drop out from the original support, but the Porter Boys certainly saved the night. A banjo/guitar duo giving a bit of humour, country, and positive vibes. They had the crowed screaming with their rendition of Cod Liver Oil & The Orange Juice.
An epic night out in Dundalk, and another venue on my list which I’m actually a big fan of.
