Today, South Arcade release their brand-new single HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER, available via BKM and LAB Records HERE.
HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER was written by the band, and produced and mixed by guitarist Harry Winks. Speaking of the track, singer Harmony Cavelle said, “HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER quickly came to life after I binge-watched the 2000’s series Dexter – a show surrounding a vigilante serial killer who punishes those who he believes deserve it. The song drew inspiration from the extreme gruesome nature of the show. We had a lot of fun writing the song and hope listeners have fun listening when they hear it too!” The band have been teasing the track across their social media over the past few weeks, using a clip of the song in videos that now have more than 15 million views before the track has been released.
Later this year, South Arcade will embark on their sold-out I Was Here First tour. It was announced following the band’s single DANGER hitting 1 million streams after the track began blowing up across social media and a huge surge in fans. The track now has over 3 million streams on Spotify alone, and the last single stone cold summer has hit over a million plays on Spotify in just a matter of weeks. The 5-date run of headline shows starts in Nottingham on September 24th, followed by Newcastle on the 25th, a hometown show in Oxford on the 27th, Leeds on the 28th and wraps with a show at The Dome in London on October 2nd.
Speaking of the upcoming tour and DANGER’s success, South Arcade have said, “It was crazy how quickly DANGER has reached so many new people. We didn’t have any headline shows planned for the rest of the year but we knew we had to meet these new fans and what better way than playing some gigs? We can’t wait to welcome the newcomers to the South Arcade world – see you in the Autumn!”
As well as their tour, the band are gearing up for a huge summer where they will be headlining the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds Festival later this month. They then head out on the road supporting pop-punk star NOAHFINNCE on his tour in November, which will see them play London’s iconic Electric Ballroom. Tickets are available now HERE.
The four-piece have also had a huge surge in support across social media, with their video reaching over 9 million views on a recent video in just a matter of days on Instagram. The band now also have over 6 million likes across their TikTok and have built a following of over 460k followers across their social media and more than 307k monthly listeners on Spotify.
The band have built a strong reputation for their energetic live performances having previously supported the likes of Taylor Acorn, Dead Pony, RØRY and Yours Truly. Heavily inspired by the 2000’s pop rock era, the Oxford-based band have captured the Y2K nostalgia and aesthetic, while combining it with their modern production and they are only just getting started…
