Sofia Camara – has shared the brand new single ‘Parking Lot’

Rising pop force Sofia Camara returns today with ‘Parking Lot’ – a heartfelt, coming-of-age ballad layered with soaring strings, soft piano melodies, and an emotional build that erupts into an epic crescendo, with shades of early Olivia Rodrigo and Tate McRae.

’Parking Lot’ came from one of those moments where grief and anger blur together, and you can’t tell if you’re mad at someone or just heartbroken that they’re gone,” says Sofia Camara about the new release. “It’s about the mental gymnastics we do to protect ourselves – making someone the villain just so it’s easier to let go. This song is me owning the ugly parts of healing, the tears cried in cars, the things we say that we don’t mean, and the threads of hope we hold onto when we know something’s over. It’s messy, it’s real, it’s honest, and I think a lot of people will see a piece of themselves in this song.”

The emotional new track – co-written with and produced by Mike Wise, Nathan Ferraro, and Lowell – is Camara’s latest collaboration with the award-winning team behind her breakthrough song “Who Do I Call Now? (Hellbent).” Most recently, Camara teamed up with Wise, Ferraro, and Lowell for her radio hit “Girls Like You” which earned her airplay on BBC Radio 1 Future Pop, with Jodie Bryant hailing it as “just the perfect pop song.” Watch her perform ‘Girls Like You’ for VEVO here.

“Parking Lot” serves as a return to Camara’s signature heart-wrenching ballads, further cementing her as one of the top rising balladists in the pop space. It arrives ahead of her debut festival performances this weekend on the main stage of Osheaga in Montréal on Saturday, and at the BMI stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago on Sunday. Last month, Camara treated fans with a new two-pack for Spotify Singles, delivering an official acoustic version of “Girls Like You” and a cover of Gracie Abrams’ “That’s So True.” The exclusive release with Spotify celebrates her ongoing success on the platform, surpassing over 2 million monthly listeners.

Due to extreme demand for her October UK and European headline tour dates, venues have been upgraded; she will be playing four UK headline dates at Manchester’s Deaf Institute, Glasgow’s Kings Tuts, Birmingham’s O2 Academy 2, and London’s Electric Brixton in mid-October, as well as eight other dates across Europe.
