Slow Crush have today released two utterly stunning b-side singles, taken from their ‘Thirst’ album recording sessions. ‘Que Du Noir’ and ‘Hallowed’ are two incredibly different sides to the same coin. The first a track written in French, and created whilst on the Greek island of Mykonos, in the baking sunshine, is mournful and forbidding, emotional and beautiful.
As vocalist Isa states ‘‘(‘Que Du Noir’) is perhaps the darkest and most intense song we have ever written. When it first took shape, I couldn’t make it through a single take without breaking down. Every time I sang the lyrics, I was overcome with emotion. It was born in Mykonos, Greece, during one of the warmest, most light drenchedweeks of my life. A striking contrast to the darkness it carries within.”.
The second track ‘Hallowed‘ is quite the opposite. More contemplative and thoughtful, opening with a piece of spoken word poetry, the music swells with gentle caution and gentle optimism. It has a real delicate tenderness that balances out the huge swathes of emotion of ‘Que Du Noir’, and works in perfect harmony together as a one/two.
The double single release comes just as the band begin their West and South West US tour soon, starting in San Diego on the 13th March. The band then head across the US West Coast through to their final stop on the 28th March in Tuscon, Arizona. On this run of shows, the band will be curating and hosting their very own festival, EBB & FLOW, that will debut at The Observatory in Santa Ana. The full Santa Ana line-up will be announced vey soon.
The band released new album Thirst late 2025 on Pure Noise Records, their first album for the label.
