Chrissi opened the night at the 3Olympia with a soulful vibe that got the young Dublin crowd’s attention right away. Using her rich, R&B-style vocals, she felt very natural on stage. The audience spent most of the set swaying along to her relaxed but emotional tracks. She talked to the crowd between songs in a way that made the big theater feel much more personal. By the time she finished her set, it was clear she had made a lot of new fans in the room.
Before the lights even dimmed, the young crowd started chanting “We want Skye”. Their voices echoing louder and louder through the theater. When Skye Newman finally came out, the crowd at the 3Olympia went wild to kick off the first night of her Dublin stop. She started with a lively set that mixed her usual pop sound with a gritty, live-band feel. The lights looked great against the old theater walls, changing moods to match the different parts of the show. The big hits had everyone on the floor jumping, and the whole room was singing along to every word. Since this was just the first of two nights at the venue, she seemed to have plenty of spirit to carry through to the Tuesday show. Her movement on stage was great to watch, as she moved between being a storyteller and a powerful pop star. She spent a lot of time acknowledging the front row, looking genuinely happy to be playing for her Irish fans.
