Sistra – release their debut album, She Won’t Let Go + focus single, ‘In Two’

Alt-pop and electronic duo SISTRA release their debut album, She Won’t Let Go, out now via AWAL. Alongside with the album release is the release of their focus single, ‘In Two’. It is the fifth single taken from their debut album following ‘Is It Just Me?’, ‘Double Edged Sword’, ‘Things I Really Mean’, and ‘Daffodils’.

On She Won’t Let Go SISTRA explore sounds that incorporate avant-pop, art-pop, and hyper-pop aesthetics, leaning into electronic motifs. Conceptually, the album imagines the sisters stuck in their childhood home – emotionally and psychologically – writing songs both for and about each other as they try to grow beyond it. At its core is a constant tension: deep, persistent insecurity about the survivability of their relationship versus towering ambition and absolute belief in each other.

She Won’t Let Go was executive produced by Jon Shave (Charli xcx, Zara Larsson, Miley Cyrus, Sugababes) and also includes production from Chloe Kraemer (The Japanese House, Wet Leg), Danny L. Harle (Caroline Polachek, Dua Lipa, Rina Sawayama), and Micah Jasper (Lily Allen, Ashnikko, Rebecca Black).
 
Speaking about She Won’t Let Go, Sasha Briggs said:
 
“We’ve put our relationship, independence and our livelihoods on the line to make this album so I hope my sister’s gay landlord likes it… writing and singing about each other has truly been the best and the worst of times, but right now I can’t stop thinking about our song ‘In Two’… the desperation and Prince of it all… I can’t wait for it to be relinquished from this house and sent out into the world. She really won’t let go.”
