SerpentS – release their defiant debut single! ‘Nerve’

Introducing your new favourite alt/rock band, SerpentS, who today release their defiant debut single! Nerve is an audacious track and explores themes of assertion and retribution. Led by vocalist and bassist Eli and vocalist Cerys, Nerve showcases the band’s commanding and solid musicianship. SerpentS have also revealed the very fun official music video, which sees the band performing the track interspersed with them doing an 80s-inspired workout in outfits to match, and more.

Despite having played music together for years both on and off stage, this is the first time Eli, Cerys, Josh and Kian feel excited and truly ready to share it with the world. They’ve said of Nerve, “We wanted our debut as SerpentS to be unignorable and bold. Nerve is a gutpunch first single and demands all eyes on us. It is a cathartic rage anthem, calling out small people with big egos.”

Showing no signs of slowing down, today SerpentS also announce their debut EP, Let Loose & Join A Cult! The triumphant body of work will be released on 6th November, and will feature brand new single Nerve alongside 6 unheard tracks. New music will be dropping from the EP throughout the year, so keep your eyes peeled for updates.

Hailing from Manchester, the four best friends have sold out headline shows, filled out festival tents and toured with the likes of Mouth Culture, Crawlers, Au/Ra and more. Next up, SerpentS support Pale Waves at their self-curated festival at Untitled Studio, Manchester on 11th September, and will play their own headline show also in Manchester, in November. Details to be announced soon.

Their first studio session as SerpentS just so happened to be with members of two of their favourite bands – Manchester rockers, Pale Waves and American pop/rock trio, Pvris. Considering they grew up listening to these artists, it was a very surreal experience but one they will never take for granted. The end result was a currently unreleased track which will appear on the band’s forthcoming EP.

The band met at college and started playing music together almost instantly. They squeezed into a studio flat until they could find a house, just so that they could write together every day. The four-piece even skipped their college lessons to write songs in their basement. SerpentS was born during a very transformative time of their lives, where they were constantly being met with lots of snake symbolism. They took this as a sign from the universe to become SerpentS, and the rest is history.
