Acclaimed singer-songwriter Ryan McMullan releases ‘’Never Mattered’ on 4th October ahead of his highly anticipated debut album Redesign on 1 November. ‘Never Mattered’ showcases McMullan’s distinctive blend of soulful vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and dynamic instrumentation.
Never Mattered is about reminiscing on old friendships that over time, whether because of new area codes or just life getting in the way, have drifted apart, but knowing that no matter what, they remain fully intact. Ryan says “I think we can all think of someone in our lives that we don’t get to see as much as we once did, but when we do get some time together, we pick up exactly where we left off. This one’s for them.”
Renowned for his magical live shows, McMullan has garnered widespread acclaim for his captivating performances and poignant songwriting. The Portaferry native is blessed with a voice that can shift effortlessly between the ethereal and the guttural, and a prodigious songwriting talent to match. Since the early days of his career he garnered significant attention from industry heavyweights, including Ed Sheeran, who called Ryan’s voice a ‘rare jewel’, and Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, who likened his voice to that of an angel. Having previously supported music icons such as Ed Sheeran, Dermot Kennedy, Snow Patrol, and Kodaline, McMullan is set for a headlining career of his own with the release of Redesign.
Having already established himself as a talent to be reckoned with, even bigger things await Ryan McMullan once Redesign is finally released. Writing an album about love in its various forms – love for his family, his new wife, his friends or even his business associates – has aptly set the scene for an illustrious future, and there is talk of how album number two will take another creative leap forward. As anticipation mounts, Ryan McMullan invites audiences everywhere to experience the magic of ‘Us’ and join him on what is sure to be an unforgettable musical journey.
