Ryan McMullan – releases ‘In This Room’ (co-written with Ed Sheeran) the lead single to new EP

Ryan McMullan makes a striking return with “In This Room,” the lead single from his highly anticipated new EP both releasing on 4 April, 2025. Co-written with global superstar Ed Sheeran, the track offers a raw, intimate reflection on the emotions that inhabit four walls—love, loss, hope, and the lingering echoes of what might have been. McMullan’s renowned storytelling takes centre stage, underscored by a heartfelt vocal performance that effortlessly blends delicate melodies with soaring emotion.

“’In This Room’ was originally written for a 2018 film called The Delinquent Season, starring Oscar winner Cillian Murphy,” McMullan explains. “It was co-written with Grammy Award winner Ed Sheeran on a guitar that once belonged to none other than Johnny Cash. I still can’t quite wrap my head around that, but I’m thrilled that this song is finally seeing the light of day!”

Accompanying “In This Room” on the EP are several deeply personal, beautifully crafted tracks that showcase McMullan’s knack for capturing life’s most poignant moments: “Jenny and Johnny” – A tale of two people destined to be together, yet doing everything they can to derail their own fate. “Saturday Night’s Done Right” – An upbeat ode to spending a Saturday night at home with the perfect companion. “When It Sinks In” – A moving exploration of the moment you realize—too late—that you’ve fallen in love.

With “In This Room” leading the way, the new EP promises a powerful, introspective journey through love, longing, and the fleeting nature of time, all delivered through McMullan’s signature blend of authenticity, rich instrumentation, and soul-stirring lyricism.

In support of the EP release, Ryan McMullan will embark on a UK and Ireland tour this April, which will be followed by dates in Australia and Europe in May, bringing his electrifying live performances to fans across the region.
