Riverside / Klone – The Academy, Dublin 16.05.2024

Polish progressive rock band from Warsaw were on their fourth night of their Irish/UK tour with a stop off in Dublin playing at The Academy with French art rock band Klone who on this tour are playing a special unplugged set and man was it something to witness, when I got to the venue and saw the 4 seats and drum lined up on stage I thought ummm support going to be boring, but whoa far from it, they were bloody amazing and played one of the best acoustic version of Black Hole Sun that I have ever heard.
Then can the turn of the main act Riverside to take that stage and again these guys blow the roof off the venue and with one of the best stage lights I seen in the venues it was a pure joy watching and listening to this guys as they played through their near two hour set of old and new tracks.
As progressive rock goes this band is much more and they proved that and also said that lol as Mariusz Duda explained that the title of the new album is all about the bands Identity and then trying to so there is much more to them than the normal prog rock stereotype, which after seeing them playing live I for one can testify to that.
Do yourself a favour and get out and see these guys live.
