In celebration of her upcoming debut Glastonbury performance, British anti-pop star PinkPantheress surprises fans with the release of one of her most highly requested unreleased tracks, “Close to you,” with accompanying music video.
The release follows PinkPantheress’ tartan-themed intimate performance at Banquet Records’ Pryzm on Thursday, where she surprised fans with a live rendition of the track, sending them into a frenzy. As a souvenir, fans who attended last night’s show were given a Close to you promo CD. Originally teased on Soundcloud in 2021, ‘Close to you’ quickly became one of the most sought-after tracks among fans with audio rips being reposted across Youtube hundreds of times.
Directed by the creative behind ‘Just For Me’ music video, Lauzza, the visuals serve as a nod to PinkPantheress early roots whilst incorporating the artist she has grown into today. The video follows PinkPantheress as she tries to mend her broken heart using fairytale romance as her source material.
Speaking on Close to you PinkPantheress says: “so excited to FINALLY present this song, i can’t believe how many people have asked for this song, im really honoured to have had fans wait this long for this release, being one of my first written songs, it’s so special that 4 years later it can see the light of day”
