Paddy Hanna has today released a rendition of Burt Bacharach classic ‘My Little Red Book’ via Strange Brew.
The single is the latest release from Hanna’s forthcoming Bacharach homage album, Paddy Hanna’s Bacharach Show Vol.1, following his versions of ‘Walk on By’, ‘What’s New Pussycat’ and ‘The Look of Love’.
Written by Bacharach and Hal David for the 1966 film What’s New, Pussycat?, ‘My Little Red Book’ follows a heartbroken man determined to replace his former girlfriend by working his way through the phone numbers in his little red book, while knowing he’ll never find another quite like her.
Hanna’s rendition continues a long-standing personal connection with Bacharach’s music. Hanna supported the legend for two nights on the Irish leg of his 2019 tour, where the six-time GRAMMY award winner was so impressed with Hanna’s opening performance, that he invited him onstage for an ecstatic encore at the Galway International Arts Festival, performing ‘Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head’ (watch here).
During a difficult period of his life, Bacharach’s act of kindness transformed Paddy’s outlook, where today the memory continues to fuel his determination, love and his mission to share irresistible songs with the world.
Paddy Hanna’s Bacharach Show Vol.1 will be released digitally and on vinyl on Friday, November 20th.
