On the rise Electric Pop Duo T.A Narrative – release highly anticipated EP ‘Hearts Drive Forward’

T.A. Narrative is a duo from Limerick, Ireland, composed of Tara Nix and Anna Murphy. The pair, who are childhood friends, have worked together under various guises, sharing the stage in Irish punk bands and touring and recording in the U.S.

Starting a collaboration as T.A. Narrative during lockdown, their unique and exciting visual live show and the release of their debut E.P. ‘Retro Futurism’ in 2023 has firmly placed them as a must-see act. Drawing influences from post-punk, electronic, and sparkly pop music (from Fugazi to Kim Petras and Chappel Roan), they have been described as having a charming abandon and a palpable sense of freedom and joy in the music that they create. Fresh from playing the main stage at last year’s Beyond The Pale Festival, a raucous set at All Together Now in Waterford, and having turned heads as special guests to the likes of Les Savy Fav, King Kong Company, Bush Tetras and Le Boom, T.A Narrative released their thumping single ‘Caught Out’ which was followed by sexy new track ‘Sway’ which saw the duo land coverage with the likes of Hot Press, 98FM, Today FM, iRadio, Sound Lab, RTE Entertainment and many more. Their full highly anticipated EP ‘Hearts Drive Forward’ will be released May 23rd under T.A Narrative’s recently launched record label SASP records. Expect to dance your tits off.

“Magic” is a haunting yet tender song that explores the thrill of falling into a love so deep it feels otherworldly. Blending eerie melodies, driving drums, epic synths and chugging guitars, it captures the magic and fear of surrendering to someone who sees your soul—a euphoric feeling, yet a terrifying unknown.

T.A. Narrative’s upcoming EP, “Hearts Drive Forward” is a reflection of the duo’s personal journey, and searching to showcase the depth of human vulnerability. With winding melodies, poignant lyrics over a rhythmic pop backdrop.

At its core, the EP is not just a collection of songs; the pair try to capture the euphoric highs of love and the crippling lows of heartache, drawing listeners into an intimate exploration of our shared human experience

“Its important to note how particularly challenging life feels right now, a collective struggle really. With that, it’s important to hold things in perspective. Hopefully this can bring a sense of comfort and camaraderie to listeners, you’re not alone in your vulnerabilities.”
 says Nix

“There’s a maturity in both our production and songwriting on this EP. We explored different rhythms and styles and were thrilled with the textured outcome.Working with someone as methodical as Kirby, has brought a new refined aspect to our work.” says Murphy.

“Hearts Drive Forward” produced by Chris Kirby, Mixed by Chris Pawlusek and mastered by Richard Dowling at Wav Mastering

It is somewhat of a cathartic release, aiming to remind us that amidst life’s struggles, we can find solace in the connections we share, the stories we tell, and the music that binds us together.
